Generosity Pathway
Find out where you are along the Generosity Pathway, where you could be, and resources to help you get there.
Pre-Giver: This person is considering generosity but has not yet begun giving. They may be learning about what the Bible teaches, working through trust, or unsure how giving fits into their faith journey. Curiosity and openness are present, even if action hasn’t followed yet. Taking the step to make a small, intentional gift can help build trust and begin the practice of giving as worship.
Periodic Giver: This giver contributes occasionally, often in response to a need or emotional connection. Giving is present but not yet consistent or planned. They are beginning to explore what it means to connect generosity with discipleship. Moving toward intentionality by committing to a regular rhythm of giving—such as a percentage-based or monthly plan—can deepen spiritual discipline.
Proactive Giver: This person gives consistently and with intention. Generosity is planned, often as a percentage of income, and seen as a meaningful part of their spiritual life. They believe in the mission of the church and are growing in faith through giving. Life stage or circumstances may still influence how much they feel able to give. A next step might involve prayerfully increasing generosity beyond the base level, exploring new areas to support, or encouraging others to grow in giving.
Partner Giver: Generosity is central to this person’s life. They give joyfully, beyond a set percentage, and structure their finances around supporting the church’s mission. They see themselves as stewards of God’s resources and active partners in what He is doing through the church. They might consider leaving a legacy through long-term planning, helping to shape a culture of generosity, or mentoring others in financial discipleship.
